Onboarding Day 13: VIPs and soigné marks

Goal: Trainee can read a soigné mark and execute the VIP handoff. Honor the regulars.

Pre-shift

Host walks the trainee through the SevenRooms tablet. Show 3-5 real profiles with soigné marks. Trainee reads each mark and interprets it.

Read before shift

During shift

If a real VIP or soigné-marked reservation arrives tonight: trainee reads the mark, briefs coach + MOD, and the trainee executes the handoff to the assigned server. Trainee watches the server execute the touches.

If no VIP tonight: MOD simulates with a real regular and tells the trainee "treat this as a soigné table" — same protocol, training only.

What the coach + MOD watch for

Did the trainee read the mark BEFORE approaching the table?
Did the trainee brief the server with specifics (allergy, occasion, history)?
Did the trainee write a follow-up note in SevenRooms after the table departed?

End of shift

15-minute debrief.

Coach + MOD sign-off: Trainee can read and execute a soigné mark. Trainee logged the post-visit note correctly.

Tomorrow

Day 14: Handbook test and release.
