Build

If sugaring the rim, half-rim only — never full. Shake all ingredients with ice for 12 seconds. Double-strain into the prepared coupe. No garnish.

Story

Paris or London, 1920s, disputed origin. Named for a captain who arrived at the bar in a motorcycle sidecar.

Service note

Coupe, no ice. Ask about the sugar rim — many guests dislike it. Half-rim lets them choose.

Tasting notes

Citrus-forward, warm cognac base, balanced sweet-tart. The rim adds nothing for a properly balanced drink.
