Daiquiri

Rum, lime, sugar. Shaken. Up. The textbook three-ingredient sour.

Spec

  • 2oz white rum (default: Plantation 3 Stars)
  • 1oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.75oz simple syrup (1:1)

Build

Combine in shaker over ice. Shake hard for 12 seconds. Double-strain into chilled coupe.
Garnish: lime wheel on the rim.

Story

The original sour template. Cuba, 1898. Three ingredients, no margin for error. If you can't make a great daiquiri, you can't make great drinks.

Service note

Never serve a daiquiri with anything frozen, blended, or slushy unless specifically asked. The Lancey daiquiri is up, straight, classical.
