Difficult guests are not your enemy. They're someone having a bad night. Three internal reframes: 1) 'This isn't about me.' 2) 'How would I want my mom treated?' 3) 'What's the smallest thing I can do to turn this around?' If the guest is abusive, you don't have to take it — escalate to MOD. Self-respect is not optional.
