SOP: Cry in the walk-in

Bad nights happen. Bad news during a shift happens. Difficult guests, family emergencies, personal stress — it all hits the same place.

If you need a minute:

  1. Tell a coworker you're stepping off for 60 seconds.
  2. Walk-in is the designated space. So is the staff changing room.
  3. Take 60 to 120 seconds.
  4. Come back composed.

What you do not do:

  • Let it spill onto the floor
  • Snap at a coworker or guest
  • Sulk visibly behind the bar

The guests in the room paid to be there tonight. The room belongs to them, not to your bad day.

If 60 seconds isn't enough, tell the MOD. We will cover you.
