Bartenders never taste a guest's drink. Servers never sneak a bite of a plate before it leaves. Tasting is done pre-shift or at family meal. Anything else is unprofessional and a food-safety issue.
EXCEPTION: It is OK to taste a cocktail to verify correct build using a straw in a TIN. Not after the cocktail is poured.
