Major systems

  • [ ] HVAC: full vendor service contract review and renewal
  • [ ] Walk-in: full vendor inspection + parts replacement schedule
  • [ ] Electrical: licensed electrician inspection (outlets, breakers, lighting)
  • [ ] Plumbing: full inspection
  • [ ] Fire suppression: NYC FDNY annual inspection (REQUIRED)
  • [ ] Fire extinguishers: tag service (REQUIRED by code)
  • [ ] Hood + ventilation: vendor deep service + duct inspection
  • [ ] Refrigeration: all equipment vendor inspection

Insurance + compliance

  • [ ] Insurance policy renewal review (general liability, liquor liability, workers comp)
  • [ ] Workers comp poster current
  • [ ] All required NYC posters current (DOL, DOHMH, etc.)
  • [ ] Food Protection Manager Certificate renewal status check (5-year cert)
  • [ ] Liquor license renewal status
  • [ ] Sidewalk café permit renewal if applicable
  • [ ] Music license (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC) renewals current

Equipment evaluation

  • [ ] Identify any equipment near end of life — schedule replacement
  • [ ] Review depreciation schedule with accountant
  • [ ] Capital expenditure plan for next year

Staff

  • [ ] Annual staff handbook review and re-distribution
  • [ ] Performance reviews for all team members (onboarding-90-day-review)
  • [ ] Wage/compensation review
